Guys,

Got a question for you. I just bought a `91 CRX that has some rims on it already. its just gona be a daily driver to save gas so I don't wanna dump a lot of money in to it.

One of the wheels has some curb damage to it. Its not bent but its just got a scrape along the lip. the lip is polished and I would like to keep it that way instead of painting the whole wheel. I have purchaced paint and some transtart clear coat for the center.

How would be the best way to repair the curb damage? after repaired and re polished, would I be able to clear over the top of the polished lip easily or should I just clear the rest of the wheel and deal with polishing the lip regularly? I know I will have issues with the clear chipping off so I think my best bet will be to leave it un-cleared. Any input from your paint guru's out there would be great. Thanks!

EDIT - BTW the polished lip on the wheel currently has some sort of clear coating on them right now that is pealing off. that is the primary reason for re-doing them aswell. I figure I will spray some aircraft stripper on it to get all that stuff off.
