I'm going to get a CanDo Cross Member for my truck is it poss. to take the cab body bolts loos and lift the cab off the frame a little to get on top of the frame to cut the old crossmember out? If so how much lift would I be able to get? Would I have to take the front end loose as well? I also can use a lift at work no problem(one of the perks of being flat-rate)
Thanks

Dude me and two of my buddies built our crossmember exactly like the cando one for about 35 bucks. To get the old one out we used a cutting torch for the main part of the crossmember and left just the top of the crossmember (right under the cab) there and cut that out with a cut off wheel. It took like 15 minutes to cut it out and then another 15 to clean it up. We didnt have to lift the bed or nothing total time to build a custom crossmember and install and cut the old one out was like 3 hours. But like i said i dont think you need to lift the cab to cut the old one out, seems like way too much unnecessary work to me.
