ok so i finally got back on track to wrkin on the yota,i wanna go ahead and bd before i do the interior.i saw in the new mt that they channeled that yota.is it harder than it looks like?wat are the pros and cons, and i gotta z the frame right?i already talked to seth on this jus want to see wat yall think.

z the frame or section the crossmember and move up the uca mounts. z is easier imo. and yes, you'll have to do that unless you do some homo shit like lay the body and not the frame. you'd be angled then. lay the frame first. you can stockfloor it and not cut holes, but it will squeak. i've got about 6 clearance holes for my sfbd.

ya thats wat i was thinkin, thanks man

Imo a trad.Bd is easier. Why? Because you dont have to worry about x-members getting in the way,and having to chisel all that deadning material off.and the whole fuel lines and stuff.

I will do the Uca mod (eventhough its harder) so as not toHave to worry about lowering the engine.

I hate trucks with holes (no offense) left unattended so pick one and do it right.

I promise I wont leave it homo'd..lol

you still have to section the oil pan. also your steering will need to be corrected cause you're gonna screw up your geometry. they left out that bit of info in the MT article.

and yes, traditional is easier. but to look in the open door of a truck on the ground and see the cab floor that close to the ground is bad ass.

Oh of coarse ! I didnt mean by doing the Uca mod that that was going to fix it all ,it was just the combo of BD and frame clearance that i am thinking of doing .But to see a stock floor gotta be sick.Besides im a lil guy and i still cant imagine loseing the head room.

Actually, they didn't cover it because Bobby doesn't change anything. He says it just gets a little bump steer.

Shoot ....all i was thinking about was some borgeson joints.Thats all that mike said they did.

bad idea imo. naturally you're not gonna ride at stock height much, plus that extra inch, just not ideal. if you're gonna move the arm mounts, the steering should go up... or maybe you could just put the tie rod ends in upside down and fix it. anyway, something should be done...

I agree. I think he said later on he put heims on the end of the tie rods and put them on the bottom side, but that definitely needs addressing. Personally I moved all of my steering components up the same amount. But next time I'd Z it and just stick drop mounts in it.
