Guys, just wondering how you got the metal sleeves (the ones that are pressed in the frame) for the lower control arm out? I took a socket that fit around the bushing and fit the sleeve perfect, and beat the shit out of it!! It didn't fucking move!

I was going to see if you guys knew a better way to do it, before before I make a tool to pull it out!

i think you have to cut them out and buy new ones to press back in.

I used a 16mm socket and a 16mm deepwell socket, c-clamp and a piece of tubing that fits the bushing opening on the frame. Trim the ends of the bushings off with a utility knife, this gives you a little more working room with the bushing sleeve. Start out with the small socket and c-clamp forcing it towards the front of the frame. Once it won't go any farther start using the deepwell. it takes time but you should get all but about 1 1/2 out and you can twist that out by hand, Don't damage the sleeves, those are dealer only items.

Or you can simply burn them out if your in a hurry.

When I installed the new ones i had to trim about 1/4in. off one side so the arm would fit over it without squeezing that much material out. This is who I got my bushings from or through Summit racing.

if you're installing tubular arms, you need to remove the outer sleeve too. much more fun than the bushing

yeah, the metal sleeve that the bushing is in, is what im talking about! the rubber part isn't that bad! but the sleeve is fucking ungodly hard to get out.

for all you people getting tubular A-Arms (or just FYI) i think that i found the quickest and easiest way to get those metal sleeves out!!!!!
get a hydraulic jack and put it against the bolt-in x-member under the motor and tranny! take an 1 1/8" socket and put around the bushing and on the lip of the sleeve. and put in some work on the jack! it pops that bitch out so easy!
just thought it might help someone in the future!
