Right now I have 2" drop spindles and 3" block and I want to go lower. I have read somewhere about a ball joint flip. How is this done? Any pics or tech links. Also where can I find a mono leaf setup. Plus my other problem is that with my set up know I already drag cat. Can I move that back to under my bed? I have to keep it for emissions. Any help would be nice to get me lower with out cranking on the t bars. Sorry for all the questions. Could not find the search button.

flipping the joints involves moving the ball joint onto the tops of the arms. this requires longer bolts. make sure to use grade 8.

You dont find a mono leaf setup. just take your spring pack apart and reinstall the longest one and you have a monoleaf. this is not the best idea. you can get 3" springs. belltech i think.

you can move your cat anywhere it will fit. competent exhaust shop should be able to handle that no problem.

search button is located 4" from the top and 2" from the side when the page is scrolled all the way up.

yea I just found the search button. Ok so Im thinking that the mono leaf is not a good idea now. I think I will just remove the middle leaf. On a scale of 1-10 how hard is a ball joint flip. The spindles were not that hard for me. Also will moving the cat cause any problems?

no harder than changing spindles or separating your leafpack.

and here's an idea for you. since you're taking your leaf pack apart anyway, just use the extras as spacers like so:
current assembly:
__________
_______
____

reassemble like so to gain some drop and keep some spring action:

____
______
_________

just go by a parts store and buy some leaf spring clamps to hold them together at the ends. this actually works pretty well if you cant afford lowering springs.

moving the cat properly should cause no problems. also, welcome to the scene. you should post up some pics.

what do you mean by that? I've never hear of that. I currently have the middle leaf removed with a 3in block and bumpstops removed.

thats basically flipped liefs i guess
i run them in my hiace van it dropped it about 4 inches.

as for flipping ball joints i did that on my hilux with new balljoints and the bolts were long enough. i only did it for camber issues i dont think they it would lower you much on a static ride

yep, its not much gain.

takes all the support off of the main leaf. basically lowers it as if it were a monoleaf, uses the leftovers as addition lowering "block". when they're clamped back together, you'll regain abit of spring.

moving the cat will only cause problems if you have the 02 senser after the cat. if you don't have smog laws just take it off..

after cat o2s are only after 95.5 year model or possibly earlier on a 4x4 model. of course i did just assume since most guys on this board are pre 95.5 that he was too. if you're after 95.5, diabolic is right.
