I am wanting to put drop spindles on my 79 SR5. What mods do I need to do to make them work. Do I need to buy 84-95 balljoints to use the spindles? will I have to drill new bolt holes to use the 84-95 ball joints? Pics would be great. Aklso, how much drop can I get with flipping the ball joints? How far can I crank the torsion bars safely? Any help would greatly be appreciated.

Didn't I give you all of this info a few months back?

Spindles bolt up, you just need the point the lower balljoint up. But you need the 84-95 hub spindles rotors calipers everything.

Balljoint flip makes about .625" drop.

Yes you did but I kinda forgot some it. What do you mean by point the lower ball joint up?

i think he means instead of the nut being on the bottom of the spindle point it upward so the nut is on top.... but i would think you would have to get the spindle retappered to do that. flipping the ball joint probably wont gain you enough drop to make that big of a difference. especially since you plan on cranking the torsion bars and putting the spindles on it. doing the flip i think is more work then its worth unless you REALLY need the 1/2".

On the 79-83 spindle, the tape points down towards the ground, and the spindle is taller. The newer spindles are shorter so that the taper faces up along with the ball joint. So you unbolt it, and turn ti over. You will understand when you see the difference in spindles.
