People talking crap

I'm tired of it. Why can't people either keep their trap shut? Some kid at the gas station by my house this weekend comes walking up to me while I'm filling up and says "Hey man did Car Nutz do your car?" I guess he saw the license plate ring. I simply replied "yeah" and then he said this "I wouldn't let them work on your car anymore because they tried to bag my friends S-10 and messed it up so bad that it was totaled." I was kinda shocked and pissed at the same time and all I could say was "kinda funny because I haven't bagged an S-10 out of my shop yet" and when I asked who his friend was he started back trackin because he realized I work there. I guess it all just comes from people being envious.
Anyone else have an experience when someone is talking crap about you and doesn't even know IT'S YOU THEY ARE TALKING TO!!!?
