I have an 84 toyota and i have a pulled leaf in the back with 3" blocks and when my fat friend sits in the truck it rubs the cross member under the body.

can I cut this sucker out / and or some of it, or is that bad news?

if you have any fab skills whatsoever you can make a new, higher rise one and cut that one completely out.

either or find one on line....... i wouldnt run your truck without one there though..... its one of the main ones.

if your talking about the cross member that bolts to the bottom of the frame yes you can get rid of it. but if your talking about the trans X-member then you can pick up a new one that is raised from twistedminis.com or candospecialties.com

i think he's talking about the one right behind the cab that holds the front of the gas tank where the driveshaft tends to hit after alot of drop....

Don't cut it out completely if you don't plan on replacing it. But you can notch the center. I have done this with a piece of 5" 1/4" wall tubing.
