cd player question

I am about to buy a '94 hardbody, and was wondering if a standard size CD player will fit the dash. It looks like the opening is smaller than the Panasonic cd/mp3/wma unit I had in my old S10. Is there any adaptor kit out there that will let me keep the little storage bin under the factory radio? Thanks.
