hey guys,

i have a 1991 2wd pick up with 123800 miles on it.. bought it with 113000 miles but anyway i just got a tach and it starts idleing at just above 1000 RPM's but leave it for 10-15 minutes and it will drop under 1000 RPM to about 600 or 700 RPM and i was wondering is this bad ???? and i do notice that the hotter the engine gets the harder it is to start from a dead stop and the engine sounds like its revving really low and feels like it might stall..

is this time for a Re-Build?

ok guys,

now when im in traffic or just when the engine warms up it drops to about 750 RPM like normal running temp well five minutes (give or take a few) it drops even lower to the point where its dropping under the 500RPM mark and hits 300 RPM and then kicks bacvk up to 600 RPM does that for a few minutes then it will acutally almost stall on me if i dont aid it with the gas pedal. i changed my thermastat and it made it a lil bit better but that just delayed the end result. so anyone know what might be causeing this?

please i need help...

Is it a EFI, if so check your fuel pressure, fiter & regulator.

it might also be you throttle position sensor. ive heard of them being troublesome

well i do have a sticky throttle and yes it is an EFI... is it hard and expensive to replace that throttle sensor?

well first you need to check your idle screww which is usually located at the front of the throttle body and then second you need to check your wiring because toyota trucks run on a 12 volt negative ignition system depending on what type of coil system you running and what you said about the idle dropping it is perfectly normal you runabout 1k at start up or a lil over and the truck takes time to warm up then it drops to about 750 to 700 but be sure to check your wiring for the tach and be sure to check you midle screw
