i want to chop the top on my blazer 3 to 4 inches. the way i wanted to do it was cut the roof off at the top of the pillars right below the curve in the doors at the top so i will have about 1/2 of pillar attached to the roof and the rest still on the truck. after the roof is off, ill cut three inches off the pillars that are on the truck. now that i have three inches off the pillars and the measurement of top of the pillars are now wider and longer than my roof, i will section my roof into four pieces like a plus sign. then go back and add in long strips of metal from a spare roof skin, one strip front to back, then one side to side. and weld them all together to make my roof longer and winder. now that i have a roof that is the same length and width as top of the new chopped pillars, i set my roof down and weld it in. then send it to a friend in the body shop to finish is up and paint.

is this the right way to do it or is there an easier way. this is the only way i can think of doing it besides bending my pillars in to match the length and width of the roof. but then it would look kinda weird in my opinion. your doors going at a good curve then the windows slant in three inches more than normal.

let me know what you guys think.
