can someone help

i have an 01 tacoma that lays on 18's on a 40 series tire. i am currently redoing my truck and want to lay 20's on a 30 or 35 series tire.mind you i bought my truck as is soo im only 1/2 cluless to whats going on. i have tubular uppers and i have to get underthe truck to see if the lowers are stock modified or totally one off. they are not tubular.
can anyone give any pointers or photos of thier setup. i am relativly new to front suspensions. any help would be awesome!

Welcome to the site! Can you post pics of what you currently have to work with? The issue may be as simple as a bag fully collapsed or a bump stop!
