Special Treatment?

Is there any difference in painting a dash and just any other plastic interior pieces, such as prep work and the actual painting? Also, I'm not fiberglassing it, so just sand, prime, sand, paint? And lastly how do you prep the inside door handles, glove box, and bezel around the guages since they're that soft material? 92 Chevy 1500 by the way. Sorry for the book. Thanks in advance.
