air compressor

i have a back up 380 on my tank and no gauge and the compressor has not cut off in like 30 min. it is a 12 gallon tank. i have it hooked up from ignition to a toggle switch then to the pressure switch and to the compressor. it is only a back up and i am waiting on my new engine driven to get here. i am wondering do you have to hook it up to a relay for it to work right?

yes you will have to hook it up to a relay for it to work properly
