94 hardbody, 4 cyl timing chain??? any help..

there are 2 tensioners in the timing housing, one on the loose side and on one the tight side. the one on the loose side is broken and sometimes the chain apears to be loose and ratteling. does any one know something about this. the chilton manual is no help. thanks.
