Tailgate shaving

Ok i am shaving my tailgate and i am just learning on the hole body work part and i was wondering when you weld your tailgate in do you take off all the hinges and stuff and the latches and just weld it in or do you leave them in? And another thing i wired up my LEds n my rollpan but my left turn signal only works when i have my brake on what did i do wrong?

OK OK im back again kiddys i got tailights done rollpan molded in and here is the last questions is it just my tailgate that bows out in the center or is that how they all are n how do u fix that

they all havea a slight bow in time for sturcural support.

if your tailgates bowed out in the center thats no good man. something my of warped when you were welding it in.Because one thing about welding any kind of skin or handle filler is you have to go slow and take your time.Do tacks in opposite sides letting each tack cool down.If you go too fast you'll end up warpin the shit out of whatever your welding making your life hell when it comes to adding filler.

i already have my handle shaved and it didnt do anythign to the bow i took forever doin it because i seen what happened to ym buddys tailgate but i even through on a stock tailgatenothing was wrong with it and it is still bowed out like a mofo i was wondering if i would have to space out my rollpan in 2 places to make it match up itsjust when i get it itslike a 1/2inch off n i dont know if its gonna be notieable or not thats my problem

all the newer body style rangers tailgates bow out.

i doubt you warped you gate that bad to bow out if i remember th elast one i shaved was bowed out the same but you best bet is to but a skin

i said screw it to weld it all in yet it would be awesome i decided to get another stock tailgate i took my other one down sanding wize and the id i got it off of had about 50lbs of bondo so i bought a new tailgate and im trying to find a cadillac liscense box to french in it casue i need reverse lights wif my leds
