one of the guys on streetsource.com told me to ask this question here
alright, my yota has been down for about 3 to 4 months now. before me and my girl broke up, she let one of her friends drive it around, and i fucked the whole wiring harness under the hood up. so i got a new one, but its not the same. my question is, what wires are needed for this truck to run again. i think im just goin to buy one of those one wire alternators for it, and it doesnt have any emissions, i took em out. i have a weber for it, just havent put it on yet. im tired of seeing this truck sitting outside infront of my shop not driveable, its a 87' with a 22r, thanks

you can go to a local toyota dealer to find a wiring harnes diagram how ever it is a pain to read.I did this with my nissan HB. I think it would be best to find another yota your same year and motor and put it side by side and spend a day or so matching it up. It may not be the easiest thing to get. I do this when I get stuck on something, but I work at a dealer so it is easier for me since their is usually a car with the same motor etc right outside the shop. It may even be possible to ask some one who is selling one thats like yours to borrow or buy time for the use of it. I hope some of that rambling helped.

If you dont mind me asking how exactly did the harness get messed up? WHat led to its current status?

Your motor is the actual 22r (carbed) correct? are you needing the whole wiring harness or just parts of it? I have an 87 22re and I have some of the wiring harness but there is a big difference between the carbed and EFI set ups.

yea, its carbed, i think i found one at the junk yard, its a 86, but ima try it. the motor is out of it too, and it has a auto tranny, so i think ima snatch that up too for my 94 yota
