I just want to see where you guys with the 96-00 body style civics are mounting your solenoids in the doors and poppers. If anybody has any pics of this just post them up I want to just get some ideas. Thanks in advance.

^^^ So is there a pulley or something that turns the cable up to go to the latch?

yeah if you look at the next to last photo at the back of the solenoid you can see the cable running up the backside of the door up to the latch...my civic is a 99 and there is a support bar that the cable runs behind so it doesn't interfere with the window

on my old 97 hatch i had them mounted in the bottom corner right underneath the latch. in the pic above i used that gold bolt to mount it, it worked perfect for the 3 years i owned it and the current owner has never had a problem either.

Well here is how I ended up mounting mine. It's a 95 so different body style than yours but maybe it will help. Instead of using the cable that came with it I used a rod from a door lock acutator.

I know it's not a civic like you asked but on my sentra I've just got a 15lb trunk solonoid mounted in the door just below the latch with the cable running up to the part that is pushed on when you pull up on the outter door handle so when it pops it just pulls that piece down. I don't have one of those springs in the door to push it open either, just the factory dome light/ alarm trigger and it pops it open a good 3 inches. If you want to see some pics of it I can take a couple tonight and throw them up.
