hi.i own a 82 yota and im getting sick of everyone asking me when im going to paint it (its in primer) anyways i decided im gonna go with an orange.ok the paint on it is acrylic, its full of stone chips so it needs to be paint stripped, some of it.i dont know what type of paint to buy, acyrlic sounds good because of its paint n thinner aplication i dont know if ill be able to acuratley mix hardner, activator and all that without a scale.will 2pac paint stick to acrylic primer, a guy i kno who works at a local body shop says its fine but when i worked in shops we never mixed the 2...whats a good etch primer, i used to use this yelow stuff at a BMW smash shop i worked at that gear was great it was thick and full of zinc i cant remember the name most of the stuff i have in the garage is too runny and thin.whats a decent bang for buck paint, the trucks not a show winner, just for my luck at Beemer we used glasurit (spelling?) thats stuff is great but pricey, at another shop i worked at they used PPG, alot of ppl knock it but it looks pretty good to me. as for acrylic paints what are some decent brands?thanks

sweet, theres a trade outlet about 2kms away from my house that sells PPG/Dupont. ill buy it from there as well as some new panel hammers and a good file for once (tax returns are great)
so no one knows how well 2pac primers adhere too acyrlic paint when its sanded down.
its no big deal cos alot of its getting stripped anyway like the hood and guards (gotta get 4x4 ones plus the side flashers are getting shaved) but places like the cab rear wall and door jambs.
i have experience with PPG prima (yes if i remember correctly thats how it was spelt on the tin) it comes out almost white and blocks back really well.
i was interested in a flatter finish and then i thought screw it im spending all the time on the body i want to see my reflection in it.
thanks

You can make any paint custom, as long as you use clear additives. HOK, Dupont, and PPG may be good, but way overpriced.

try http://www.paintwithpearl.com for great custom paint stuff.
