well i pulled into a local carshow today and i turned the truck off to register, fired it back up, and the truck ran like crap. we couldnt figure out what was wrong so we let it cool off, checked the oil etc and couldnt figure it out. it wasnt getting better so we tried driving it home (25 min drive). it kept getting worse and worse. turns out i blew my head gasket and the water from the radiator was going into the oil!. so im sure the motor is shot now. if anyone has a good 22r they could hook me up with pretty cheap lemme know, i can throw my motor in if you want it for parts or whatever if you can go down on the price

if you need to save money and the motor didnt knock/smoke beforehand -do a head gasket and timing cover.

if you do it yourself youll spend about 500 bucks. timing cover is 210 brand new from toyota(if its got more than 150k miles id do timing cover also)

i do these about once a month. those motors are pretty stout, stock. they can take some abuse. if you wanna build the motor with some fast parts this is the time. i guess i only wanted to add that if you do a head do a timing cover also.
