I have this fucking wild, crazy, insane idea for an engine...I'm wanting to put a 350 or 454 small block in it, but I have no idea what I need to do. I was also thinking of a crate motor, 1125 HP but I don't have $13,000 to spend. I'm kind of wanting to be a cross between a "muscle car" and a "euro car"...the exterior is good now, except for the tail lights. I'm working on the engine now. I can still use the stock engine, but I think a 350 small block would be cool as hell...anyways, would this work?

I have never seen one that was completed, I have seen a few where people start but they never end up being finished. You would have to either fab up you own mounts and shit or use the front clip from an older s10 like the red hatch has, you will more than likely have to redo the firewall and floor. I've been working on possibly doing an S2000 swap so it would be a rear wheel drive civic with over 240hp add a turbo to that and what do you know you got one fast fucking civic.

that red hatch has the right idea. it'd be soo much more work trying to make it work w/ the unibody. just use an s10 frame cut the shit out of the unibody to fit over everything (new firewall, new floor, etc..).

The only way to convert a front wheel drive honda to rear wheel drive is to build a frame for it and then bolt the shell to the frame.

and i thought putting a new vw 1.8T into a 75 rabbit and making the rabbit RWD was a crazy idea

That comment was way out there. Im dooring a unibody car right now, and its still unibody, just takes more engineering and time. Never say never........

Sounds like a shit load of money...don't have that much to play with right now.

That comment was not way out there, read the post again, I said "convert a front wheel drive honda to rear wheel drive is to build a frame and bolt the shell to it. I said nothing about dooring it, shit this post isnt even about suspensions. So I do believe your comment is the one "way out there."

I built a unibody car with a sbc and irs. look at my profile and there it is.

Maybe i should have been a little clearer. To put a convert a front drive civic to rear drive, you do not have to put it on a frame, a beefed up unibody will be just fine. Subframe front and rear, and tie into existing structure in the rockers and pan. There are plenty of unibody rear drive v8 powered vehicles on the road to prove that point. My post was not to bash you at all, just to get you to open your mind a little.
