anyone here swapped an automatic out and a 5speed in?

did it in a 91 nissan, wasnt too hard, at least on the nissan everything is compatible from one to the other. should be the same on yotas

yea my automatic tranny is slipping a little and i found a wrecked yota in a junkyard with the whole drive train for $300 so i think im gonna try to do the swap i was just wondering if anyone else had done it and if they ran into any problems or anything along the way

just remember you have to change the automatic brake pedal out for the manual one... the automatic one is too wide

thanks kursed i figured it would be....is the brake and clutch on the same assembely? i know my buddy just did a 5 speed swap on his car and they were on one assembly so he had to change both

has anyone ever known someone to weld up the bolt holes from the tourqe converter to the drive plate omg.....idiots......i would really like to meet whomever did this shit so i could give him a swift kick to the nuts.....see what happens when things are done half ass

Yeah its basically easy I ripped the entire interior of mine and put it all back together basically the cab are set up for auto and man so you just have to line the stuff up with the holes.....if ya need some of the interior I think I got the whole clutch and brake assy for up under there

i have the whole setup im buying a wrecked truck for $300 but who ever had this truck was obviously a moron to weld the driveplate/tourqe converter together now i have to grind down the welds and remove a stripped bolt...if u have pics of the set up on how to install the clutch release fork that would be very helpful though i have never owned a manual so this is kinda new to me
