OK, I have a 93 Honda Accord, I'm wanting to fiberglass the dash, console, and door panels. My question is...how do you do it? Just go out and buy some fiberglass, slap it on, then sand the shit out of it? Then paint it after that?

not quite that easy. You need to prep whatever your glassin to get it to stick. Then you need resin n matte, cloth, or fleece dependin on what yur doin. Then maybe a quick sand with 40 grit then filler. Sand smooth n prime then block that down n paint

Yea...why did I think it would be so easy? LOL. How much would a shop usually charge to do it?

the question should be....

how do you fiberglass an interior without killing yourself.

hey necyomancy666, fiberglassin is pretty easy its just time consumin thats all, dont think u gonna get it done no time soon, especially with all u are tryin to fiberglass, what i did with mine was

1. Take all tha leather off
2. scuff tha shit out of the panel
3. mix fiberglass/hardner
4. lay one coat of resin
5. lay mat over coat of resin
6. soak mat usin a dappin motion with paint brush
7. repeat 4-5 dependin on how many layers u want it to be
8. let dry, usually i wait till the next day cause im tired azz shit
9. grab a sander(u gonna need one), i use 40 grit and level out the fiberglass as best u can just to bring the high points down.
10. lay a good coat of bondo, let dry
11. do some more sanding
12. repeat 10-11 until your surface is smooth azz shit
13. lay down a coat or primer, this is where u will probably see alot of dimples/imperfections in your project
14. from this point i usually use spot putty to fill these in
15. reprimer surface and u should be god

thats a quick draft of the project. holla

^^^ not sure how you got luckey in having you resin stick but from what i have learned from experience resin will not stick to plastic

You can buy a kind of resin that will stick to PVC and other kinds of plastic. That is your best way.
also if you dril lots and lots of small holes in the dash that will help the glass to bond better.

^^^ really i have never seen that resin that would be handy as hell got a link or a name for it? also to suggest an idea wrap and glue the pieces your wanting to do with like fleece or some other type of material and then soak that in resin so that the glue is holding it on

I do not know what the name of it but I do know it has more DMA in it. I get it from my DAD he owns a fiberglass shop. You could call a corrosion shop and they should now.

I HAD TO SMOOTH OUT A PIECE ON MY TRUCK. IT WAS PLASTIC AND HAD THAT WIERD TEXTURE TO IT. I SMOOTHED IT AND PAINTED IT IN ABOUT TWO HOURS AND ITS LAST FOR A YEAR NOW WITH NO PROBS AT ALL. I TOOK THIS THICK AZZ PRIMER I THINKS ITS CALLED K12 I COULD BE WRONG BUT ITS THICK STUFF. I SCUFFED THE PIECE WITH SCOTCH BRITE THEN CLEANED IT WITH THINNER. THEN I SPRAYED IT ONCE WITH THAT PRIMER THEN SANDED IT WITH THE SCOTCH PAD. THEN I DID THAT ONE MORE TIME THEN CLEANED IT WITH SOAP AND WATER. THEN WE BASED IT THEN CLAERED IT. ITS BEEN HOLDING UP GOOD CONSIDERING ITS MOLDING ON A TAILGATE. NO CRACKS AND SMOOTH. HOPE THIS HELPS.
