im bagging a friend of mines 96 nissan hardbody as some of you may know in the front the steering hits the metal bar (not sure what it is called) that runs to the front of the truck. What did you guys do with that ive seen a 89 nine and i noticed it did the same thing also so what have you guys done to get around that he wants to lay 20's. an also what shocks do you guys like to use up front and in the rear.

Change out to BYC lower arms. They eliminate the strut bar that you are referring to and it gives you more room for the arm to move without having to notch the crap of the factory arm to clear the frame. I'm doing a 87 hardbody on 20's (225/35-20)with a stock floor body drop. I ordered a set of BYC uppers and lowers for it. Hopefully I will get them pretty quick!! Hint hint Mike!! J/K! Good luck. You are going to have to relocate the clutch master cylinder as well and tub the firewall. even if you arent body dropping it. (unless you arent making it lay frame)

there are several solutions
1. you can weld a piece of solid bar thats the same OD (outside diaeter) of the strut bar on the opposite side of where the nut hits. the notch out the contact area until the nut no longer hits. only take out as much as you need as to not weaken it. be sure your welds are good and deep penetrating.

2. BYC arms

3. relocate the strut rods to the back.

ok thanks for the ideas im sure this will work but if i just add a bar kind of in the shape of a L and add it to the opposite side of the control on that the steering is not on and leave it with that hateandpain did something like that on his frontier.

Yes, what hateandpain did will work great.

It's easier than all of that....chances are he doesn't have drop spindels....get the spindels and the problems solved....but he must have 16's or bigger on the wheels....and then you still may have to trim back the radius arm some for some 16's.
