shaved mirriors

i have a couple questions about this.... when you guys shaved your mirriors (i have an integra) did you weld the filler plate to the door too? and do you get hassled a lot about them being shaved?

in AZ i never get hassled cause the law says as long as u can see 200ft behind you its ok. and i welded my plates right over my door pillars on my s10
