what kits are you guys using for electric fans for those of you who removed the stock fan? i bought the one supposedly for my engine size or whatever from autozone. but it doesnt kick on until like 185 or something. so now the temp goes up higher than it used to with the stock fan on it. then the other night it was getting warm. and the idle was getting really low, felt like the truck was gonna die. i could only figure that it had something to do with this. do i need a second fan or what?

Where is the fan placed? And which direction is it spinning? If you only have one fan, it needs to be on the motor side. And ti also needs to be pulling air TOWARDS the motor. Usually the fan direction can be reversed pretty easily. Also, whenm I do it, I'm going to be using an SPAL fan, rated for anything from 4 bangers to small block V8s.

I use a Spal 16'' curved blade, & a FC-2P fan controller, you can set the fan to come on at what ever temp. you want.

yes its on the motor side and yes its pulling air towards the motor ...i made sure of that when i first installed it. but it just seems like either it doesnt come on soon enough for this motor. it turns on at 185 or immediately if the a/c kicks on and off at 165.especially now since summer is coming soon im sure its gonna be acting up more.
