hey, i'm a body man, I'm doin some collision body work on my mazda that i picked up for 400$, i've already got everything shaved. but on my a-piller (front window piller), it is really smashed up, i've got it pretty smooth but it still has a little bit of a ripple in the piller that is hard to notice but i know its there so, i'm just wonderin what would be the best way to finish it up, what tool to use to get that area, i was thinkin of goin down and tryin to get some kinda long peice of sponge and use a strip sandpaper and use that to shape it to the piller, just wonderin if theres any other ways to do that area, cause i've never come across major damage in that area,

thanx in advance

u got paintless dent tools in your shop?
we had them at my last shop u could use that to work it shove the rod down there and use it to shape the pillar.
alternatevly, why not get the sawzall out and cut the dented outter skin off and order a new one or cut a bit off a junker.
weld and smooth.
alternetly u could get the miricle pull and keep pulling hammering and shaving.

use a paint stick and some rough paper..spread some mud and before it hardens up run across it with 40 grit..let it dry some more..then hit it w/ 80 ..about a 6" paint stick will help you out a lot...

yea, one of my friends suggested a paint stick, it worked good, just never have come across that much damage on the a-piller before and i didn't have a tool to fit in there very good,

Why are you trying to shove things in or around stuff? Just pulll the door and fender off, it will only take a few mins. Then youve got all the work space you need to do it the right way.
