im getting ready to replace my head gasket in a few weeks..any recommendations on anything else i should replace??

Get a head gasket kit, replace everything that comes in the kit. Its hell of a lot cheaper buying the kit instead of having to run back and forth and having to order some of the misc. gaskets. Plus it'll save you money.

Redo the chani as well and get a steel back guide, Get a Timing cover off ebay and replace it as well for insurance as well as the oil pump, then when you have all that stuff a ready to go in Buy a Cam and a Weber and have fun......
Also make sure you tighten the bolt that goes down through the head into the cover first cause if you don't and wait till last it will break the cover and you will have a oil leak

naw i dont know about the cam..the weber carb maybe something, but im going to do the 7mgte swap, im about to the brackets for the setup.. ..but everything else, yea im more than likely goin to do thanks

&m you should get real good practice with the headgasket then LOL, You should go 1JZ I think about going to a 18RG just for the oldscholl JDM flavor

Ok go ahead and change the oil pump and the timing chain bump it up to the double row chain setup....also on this Id say go with felpro head gasket Ive run into some trouble on the cheaper ones not last as long.Also dont run head bolts.....run head studs....youll thank me later for that cause you can get a true torgue on them and alot more realiable.Might as well get the head port match polished to the intake and the header you plan on putting on.. then youll have all the goodies you need when you get the weber and the new intake...this might sound expensive but later on you wont have to worry about it and youll be hooked up....and if ya want get the smaller billet pulley from LC or BD racing it helps put less strain on the water pump and makes it run cooler....yeah I done wrote a book but hey this is shit ya need to look out for future things especailly if you wanna hop that motor up

thanx, im glad im getting info on this head gasket thing before hand..felpro you get from any parts store correct..

3tc..naw, i have found 2 motor mounts that somebody made for them, i'm just having a tranny mount fab'd so that is one less thing i have to worry about..1jzgtte is what my original thought was, but hey 237hp w/ 240ft/tq, no mods..i can dig it lol
