Hey i'm looking at buying a 90 dakota 6-cyl. for 300. only know problem so far is sterring box bushing...(some kind of bushing/seal needs replaced in the sterring area of the truck) anyways, the truck is 300 so i figured i'd swap a magnum in it and drop it. strictly a project truck. but does anyone out there know good dakota forum sites? and do anyone out there have a 1st gen dakota wanna share some lowering tips or bagging tips?

well i have a 2 gen (basicaly the same), and for lowering advice... if your going to drop it like 2-4 or 3-5 or something like that i would go with spindles up front and blocks in the rear. we used 2 inch shorter springs in the front of mine, and now i have to get drop spindles anyway. since i'm baggin it. I paid $80 for the springs from AIM and $100 for the 2 inch shorter Belltech nitro drop shocks. OR I COULD HAVE PAID $180 FOR SPINDLES. THE EXACT SAME PRICE AND WOULD HAVE RIDDEN BETTER. AND NOW I HAVE TO GET THE SPINDLE TO CORRECT THE CAMBER WHEN I GET THE BAGS ON, ANYWAY.

To drop my dakota's rear i fliped my leaf hanger and shackle and took out 2 leafs. It lays frame in the back like that. You could leave all the leafs and do that and it would be pretty low. Another way to lower the rear would be to get the hanger and shackle off a 4wd dakota. The have a higher mounting point on the frame so it is kinda the same as the other way i said just you dont have to drill holes. In the front i just cut 1-3/4 off the coil. I dont have that bad of a chamber prob and it is more of a drop than I wanted till i get spindles. also I dont have a problem with pinion angle .
