how do you do the diode trick for the valve wiring to stop noise?
madmike   +1y
huh? the noise is the air rushing threw the valve, and the sound of the solenoid working

i think diodes can be used as sort of "check valves" for currents, so say you had a 3 prong toggle switch.. but wanted it to control all 8 valves, you cant just wire it all youd need diodes to prevent the backfeed or w/e from just making your valves do shit u dont want. thats the only thing i know of..

Or, is he hearing clicking through his speakers? If so, check your stereo grounds and make sure they are all good. Like Ricky said, the diodes are used to prevent power backfeed through the switches when your hooking up multiple switches/valves, but are using only three prong switches. (instead of using a six or twelve prong to operate multiple valves) Look at the AVS boxes, they use all three prongs with diodes.

steve you've got it. all grounds are good and i have a 10 switch box that has 3,6,and 12 prong switches and they all do it. i've heard of the diode trick to fix my problem but no one can tell me exactly how to do it. help me please guys.

are you pulling power for your switches off the stereo fuse? it almost has to be in the ground somewhere or you are feeding back into the ground through the valves wich a Diode on the ground side of your vaves could help that. I would try wiring up another valve same ground points (no plumbing needed) and see if it does it also check if it does it when you turn on like a dome light and other acc.

wait forgot to ask Juice or Air ???

power for the switch box is coming from the battery, it doesnt make the noise with any other acc. , i just got the valves they are brand new blitzluft jr's from fbi. what kind of diode do i need? i just wire one on the ground from every valve since all 8 make the noise?

i would wire the switch box to ground instead of power before trying to solder all those diodes...

dub thats a good idea, im gona do that on the ranger im doin now.

if i wire the switch box to ground, how do the valves get power? run a wire from the battery to each valve and the wires from the switch bow to the ground on each valve? so it would be like a switched ground and not power?
