Hey I got a 4.3L v6 2003 s10. Whenever I start it up you can it lags the quick start and when it turns over it revs up and dies awa. To get it to start I have to accelerate on it to nake it idle ok. Once it idles and I kick it to drive it dies away unless I keep it revd up. I have at the dealership now but they have checked fuel pressure and vaccum leaks and everything checks good. I was wondering if anyone else has had this problem and what they found. It sucks though cause it only happens here and there. Any ideas?

possibly a timing issue? and also have you had the electronic control module checked?

Its brand new. I dont know if it could be a timing issue. The truck doesnt pull any codes either.

it could be several things really. you could have a shot distributor cap, rotor fuel pump going out, fuel filter clogged up... i know its a 2003 and those things shouldnt be bad allready but its possible

sounds like MAP sensor or something air/fuel related. maybe mass air flow meter. i dunno. if the dealer cant figure it out already you need to get a second opinion. it also kinda resembles symptoms of a weak fuel pump. if its under warranty let the dealer figure it out and dont let em charge you a dime.

Well they checked the fuel pum and got 55 psi and you can hear it come on. If the fuel filter is clogged then you shouldnt read good fuel pressure like that right? I thought mabey a snsor could go out because it sounds like a MAF sensor or tps is going bad. But they didnt get any codes on it.

Found out what was wrong...its the PCM(power control module). They said everytime it acted up it didnt pull codes cause it reset it self.
