NEED A FLAT SURFACE OR SHIM IT TO BE LEVEL!!
That is the biggest mistake alot of people make.

i just layed my stock frame on the floor and built my 2x3 box tube frame next to it measuring like a mad man it all work out nice but still wish i made a jig, it would have ben alot easyer... but i can't complain about just building it off the floor my came out nice just with a shit load of measuring

BEFORE YOU TEAR YOUR TRUCK DOWN -- I WOULD HAVE TO SAY BUY EVERYTHING YOU NEED FIRST -- LIKE THE METAL THE WELDING WIRE EXTRA BLADES ETC ... -- U DONT WANT MONEY SLOWING YOUR BUILD DOWN --- TAKE ALOT OF MEASURMENTS AND IF YOU HAVE NEVER DONE A FRAME BEFORE DO SOMETHING BASIC AND SIMPLE DONT TRY TO GET FANCY WITH YOUR SUSPENSION DESIGN -- LATER ON ONCE YOUR MORE EXPERIENCED THEN YOU CAN PLAY WITH YOUR IMAGINATION A LITTLE --- LETS SEE SOME PICS IF YOU DECIDE ON BUILDING YOURSELF A NEW FRAME ... !!!!

Like as stated above, shim and level the frame up, i would space the entire frame about 6'' off the ground. Then I would lay a nice wide piece of metal beneath the rear axle and weld some pieces from the axle to the piece on the floor. Then basicly cut the frame off and start fabbing. If you can manage to not move the axle around you will have it centered, level, and square and end up saving alot of time.

IM me if you want, everything I've built was screwed up by someone else first. I've done 3 or 4 now Charlie

If you have or can build a rack like out of 10" I beam and 1/4 plate weld your frame to it and all the important points like axles body mounts bed mounts then cut off your old frame parts and and install the new off of the points you have welded. installing the back half over the frame works good to expecialy if your only gona do one truck and wont need to use the rack again.

Buy some cheap bottle jacks from Harbor Freight, the ones with the screw adjustable seat. Bottom the jacks out and use the screw to level your truck (don't use the pump, you want a steady surface) Then use a plumb bob and string to locate all the bed mount holes, width and height of all your reference points and scribe it on the ground next to your marks. Doesn't matter if the surface is uneven as long as you never move the truck till it's done. Then start building your frame design making sure it hits all of your important location points. I put 4 under the frame section I wasn't going to cut up and built it all in the air, relying on the measurements I took.
