Did anyone actually understand the top chop tech article in the September 2005 issue of StreetTrucks? I can see how laying the windshield back will make it so that you don't need to modify the windshield glass, but howis it the side glass didn't need to be modified? I'm no bodyman but I like to think I can comprehend most things, and that just went WAAAY over my head.

The way it works if I understand right is the shape of the opening at the top is the same as stock, but the window will just not roll all the way back up as high as it normally would. Basically the window just rolls up and stops when it hits the top of the track.

Well now that makes sense, but how is the opening the same shape while the windshield is angled back? Did they push the bottom of the windshield forward? It seems like the less expensive but much more difficult (which can be just as expensive) way to do it.

as far as the side glass, the front pillar on the window frame is split and re-shaped to meet the side glass ,then metal is added to fill the space.

Very strange.

you can see it on most of IF CUSTOM chop tops except mine. (my roof was quartered)

I don't mean to sound stupid, but what does it mean to quarter a roof? I've heard this a lot lately, and wondered what it meant...

not stupid at all.
this is where the roof is split into 4 peices and chopped down how ever many inches ,extending and widening the roof in order to follow the angels of the pillars and then filling in the spaces.
