I'm getting ready to bag my blazer within the next month or two, and i've been reading a bunch of forums, and everyone is making it seem like it's a bitch to do so... besides the C notches i can get from suicide doors, what's the deal with the 4 link? I read they dont make a 4 link that will allow you to lay frame? If you have any advice it would be greatly appriciated.. thx

you need to make a x-member for the upper link bars and if you have a second gen with the gas tank in frt of the axle you need to work around that or convert to behind axle tank, also its hard to keep the rear seats.... but it also depends on what size wheel/tire your running

It is sorta a bitch to lay out a blazer but not the most horrible thing, i just got finished bodydroppin my second gen and i did a 4 link... But they do make a 4 link for 1st gens. innovativeairsuspension.com

its a first gen with the tank behind the axle, i don't understand why it wont lay frame though... whats preventing it?

Theres just not a whole lot of room for upper bars under the blazers. Any setup you put under there will have to be custom.

Actually it's 845 for the complete kit but it's not meant to lay frame, and never was. It's setup to get you as low as possible with the stock floor in place with minimal fab work, and give the best ride possible. If you're looking to lay out, it's not the kit for you. I was the first one to run the kit, and it was great for what it was. It got the pumpkin down on the cargo floor, and took care of the traction issues with the smallblock. Eventually though, it just wasnt low enough..lol. Laying a blazer out isnt too bad...like they've all said, there just isnt much room. You've got a ton of shit right over the axle to contend with (body mount, brake lines, gas lines) and not much room to run optimal length bars without some serious fabricating. Probably the nicest part though, is that you can use the factory leaf spring perches for 4-link mounts as they'll lay flush with the frame laid out.

For what it's worth, I'm still using the Blazer specific 4-link portion of the kit, just not the bags, brackets or shock setup..

build pics on my website of a custome setup in a fisrt gen blazer. Take a look and let me know if that answers you questions.
