Does anyone here know if you can convert a stock A/C compressor to onboard air? I have a Mitsubishi Mighty Max and I'm not running A/C because of my body drop. If it is at all possible to use the A/C compressor for air, I would like to try it. I had thought about fabbing some brackets to put a York on, but a stock compressor would be ultra-easy because it is factory mounted. Any thoughts on this would be greatly appreciated!

No you cant use the factory one... autozone sells mustang ac compressors for $150 thats what has been on all of my trucks... they work like a champ

It depends on what comp was placed on Factory it is possible to have had a Sanden compressor on it ??????? Look at the model number most Sanden will be like SD-508 or a SD-708

What kind of modification would you have to make to an existing compressor (York, Mustang, or any other) to allow it to pump air instead of freon?
