Ok, so last month im on vacation in KY, im headed back down to florida and I have to come through Virgina. Im comin off one of the mountains up there just coastin along, not paying any attention. Next thing i know im getting pulled over for doin 81 mph in a 55. Well the cop writes me a ticket for reckless driving, which means i have to go to court, instead of just mailing in the fine. What im wondering is if i dont go to court what will they do? Will the points go on my florida drivers license? Insurance? Someone told me i would not be allowed to drive in VA anymore? I dont know how the state to state thing works, does anybody else?

adjoining states usually share information on upaids. And bigger states share with more.

Call the prosecutor, explain you are from way out if state and explain it would not be likely you could drive all the way back. Usually they have a diversion system where you double (or triple) the fine and pay court costs, and you plea to a lesser, non moving charge.

Whatever you do, make sure you take care of it. If they say come, then go. Because the last thing you want is to be yanked out of the car in front of your kids on a family trip 15 years from now because of an unpaid. Regardless of what people tell you, there is no staute of limitations on a citation if you have not voluntarily entered a plea.

And 25 over is a mandatory reckless in most states. Slow down!

Alright been there done that guy, i got a ticked it NY (My license is from VT where i live), and said fuck it i am not going to pay for it so i did not and they revoked my right to drive in NY which was no bog deal well August last year 4 years later i get a letter from the VT DMV and they said my license was revoked because of that ticket and it ended up costing me over a thousand dollars because i let it go so long when it would have been a 200 dollar ticket. So if i was you i would do my best to take care of it man cause it will get you in the long run.
