Full Skin!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Whats the best way to put a full skin weld the tailgate shut first then the skin or how would i go about putting it on?

Its for my 90 mazda b2200

take tailgate off ,put skin on reinforce inside with 1*1 square tubing,tac tac tac

...thats how a issue of minitruckin told me how to do it

your need to brace the bed to cut down on flexing sos it dont crack the welds and/or body filler....i use 1"x1" 1/8" wall square tubing

is there anyway i can use my original tailgate as a reinforcement instead of using square tubing?

there would be too much of a gap to weld assuming you were to weld it (both sides) the factory gait alone will not tie the bed sides together, i put 20' of steel in that job.... cost like $36 bucks and would be much easier imo

friend of mine welded his gate shut(filled the huge gap) it lasted about 2 months and it would start to crack out. he rewelds about every 6 months.

get a skin and reinforce it good and be done.

Do it right and no worries, mine has a welded in tailgate and has been done for about 6 or so years, and is only cracking at the bottom from the rollpan being bashed in.
