does anyone know anything about the scuba tanks on mautofied?

i dont knwo about on mautofied, but ive always wondered, im a diver myself, and a scuba tank holds a little over 3000psi of air, well with that much air is it possible to use one tank and never have to use an air compressor? just a thought but it would be pretty cool or different.

well jay a ton of people use scuba tanks and the trucks usually use the bigger ones but you should usually have a back up compressor in case you run out

here is a link to what im referring to http://www.mautofied.com/listing-100018422.html

a 80 cu ft. scuba tank will hold almost 600 gal of air. at 3,000PSI,

What I go by is ,a 80cu. ft. bottle is damn close to 5 gal about 5.23gal of air at 3,000PSI or 2500 depending on the fill.

at like volumes all you do is subtract pressure,

so for a 5 gal tank at 3,000PSI filling a 5 gal tank from 90-150PSI that is 60 PSI

so 2,500 - 60 = 2,4440 PSI

2500/60 = 41 fills at 60 PSI it is all relative to get rid of the tank size to fill factor use the bag 2600 bag about 0.5 gal

so 2,500 * 5 = X * 0.5

X =25,000 PSInow a bag from 0-150PSI can be filled 25,000/150 =166.

So you can fill one bag 166 times off one tank.or all 4 bag 41.5 times

hope that helps understand how long they last.

that is $0.12 every 4 bag fills ;)

you just have to watch when the aluminum tanks are dated. Some places won't fill them unless they have a current hydro test. I believe all steel tanks are ok. I just bought a new aluminum 80cf. Red

all scuba tank need a 1 year visual insp. and a 5 year hydrostat test. before they will even fill them.
