Looking to get some info on installing an air ride setup on a 1970 Cadillac Deville. We want to lay the bitch out. Looks like we are going to have to notch the rear in it. I just wanted to see what kits everybody has in there Caddys, and see what kinda prices we are looking at and what we will need. Which bags to run and what not as well. Any help is much appreciated.
I have done two 70 Cads, one with stock wires and big white walls and the other with low pro 20s and neither had to be notched. You will have to use RS72s (2600) all around and cut out the spring pocket in the front. The rear is kind of a pain the the as because its just hard to get your hands in there. Overall it's pretty much a basic install. Use a cup on top and bottom in the front, a cup on top and an axel mount in the rear.
Hope this helps
yea the cads are pretty basic, my 69 we used a cup on top in the front and plated the lower arm, the rear you just use cups on top and acle mount bracket in the rear. notch it now way because the frame is already rolled just like a notch, if you are gonna be on big wheels you will prolly be lookin at sheetmetaling some of the driveline tunnel.
Yeah, we were looking under the rear and made a point that it already is rolled like a notch. But I wasnt sure if you needed to just notch a little more to lay harder. I guess we will just do that and see what happens....Anybody got any pictures of there suspensions after the fact, just want to have a look and see.
look at this guys porofile, get a hold of him and he will send ou picvs of the suspension and the driveline tunnel he made, i used his pics for reference when i did mine. im a lazy aass so i dont have any pipcs yet. soon though. heres his profile.
when its done will do, gonna paint it soon
, actually was thinking of powdercoating all the chrome black and running a gloss white paint, would be different, what you think
