What would cause my alternator to not charge the system, i removed the ground from the battery and the truck just dies, i've replace the alt. harness, the alt. , the battery and checked all kinds of fuses and relays , i just cant figure this out. so my main question is what all do i need to make the alternator work, its on my 95 v6 4.3 fullsize, standard if that matters , tbi/vortec also

check the charging fuse under the hood. and also have you made a custom insterment cluster and if so did keep the battery idiot light because that acts as a resistor to tell the alternator to charge and if you have your factory cluster still check to see if that bulb is burnt out. i had the same problem and i replaced the bulb and it fixed my problem. just a few ideas....
