S10 Transmission Crossmember

I'm working on a 2001 S10 standard cab and was wondering what a good solution was to the fact that there is a plate with long bolts hanging out of it that keep the frame from laying out. I dont want to have to buy one i would like to just fab something. anyone have any pics of what they did or ideas?

take off the triangle mounting plate, get a drill bit a little bit bigger then the bolt holes and enlarge the holes about 1/4" deep. then get some long allen boltswhose heads will sit up inside the frame. as for the actual crossmember hanging down, DRAG IT OFF!!!

cool. thanks for the info. i took my die grinder with a burring tool and made the hole a little wider. it would have been a pain in the ass with my long drill and bit. i would have had to get the truck way up there. its done now though and looks clean.

or you can just by the crossmember from devious customs the 2 bolt studs that hang down on the driver side right? if so devious makes a crossmember for like 120 bucks and the bolt are counter sunk into the frame and sit completely flush.

or u can just go to home depot, spend a few bucks on allen head bolts, and ur done

WRONG, well first im not sure what motor he has but its prolly a 4 banger which last I checked devious did not make a crossmember for(been a while) and b u still have to enlarge the wholes bigger with the bolts given. At least it was like that on my old v6.

please dont tell me im wrong if you dont know what your talkin about , i bought it for my truck so it does exist and it was a 97 4cyl 5 spd reg cab shortbed , comes pwdercoated its 120 bucks , devious dosent advertise it because there site hasnt been updated in 3 years but ive also seen it in minitruckin tech sections and in the devios ads, im really not tryin to be a dick here but the guy already rigged somethin up so its done. mission accomplished
