I'm having drama's with a tick in the rocker gear on my 22r.
It appears to be coming from around number 3 inlet valve, I've checked all the obvious things like valve adjustment ,check for broken valve springs & rocker shaft security.
The engine has 240,000 k's on it, the timing chain was replaced at 236,000k's.
It only seams to be there under load.
Has anyone else had this problem and what did they do to fix it?
Thanks

Did you adjust the valve lash when its hot or when its cold....If Im not mistake its 8 and 12 when its hot.....that would be my first quess cause if its a rod you wear hear it all the time unless its a bearing about to go.

I've checked it both hot and cold it all checks out fine.
Knowing my luck its probably going to die.
Thanks man

i was having this problem to a while back. does it tick when you start it in the morning? and then it ticks when your going up hill or the motor is under a load. when mine had those symptoms it was because of a timing chain but you said you already replaced it a while back. but sometimes the little plastic tracks that the chain runs around get brittle and break. thats what mine did...it ticked like i said before for a couple years before it started to do it all the time. the motor im building now that track peice is made out of some shit that flexes so it wont break. did you replace the chain with a good one or a cheepy?
