Depends on what you call alittle bit of pep, Are you talking about more power beyond carb, cam and a header?I'm going to pressurize my sidedrafts on about 5lbs of boost with stage 3 cam 1mm over block

just like 6 psi

with a cam,camgear,some other upgrades

but like can a yota be tuned?

Cam gear? Lol. I don't think they make them for Yotas.

Yeah LC has them and there is a double row TRD one on ebay right now,
Yes the 22r motor can be tuned you can get good power out of them NA but if yo are going to turbo a carb you will have to run a 4bbl a small on cause you will need a bonnet for a blow throw and I dont think thay make them for the 2bbl Webers

Just get a holley 4 bbl for it then. They make a 22R manifold for a 4 barrel.

you can tune the motor like any other proformance motor. just keep in mind that what ever you do to the motor to get more power you gonna need more fuel to feed it. running 6 lbs of boost to a healthy motor isnt going to be detrimental to the motor. its when you start to get above 10lbs is where its starts to get harmful on a stock motor. toyota ran a stock turbo on their 22r-te motor which ran around 6 lbs if i remember correctly. of course the 22rte was built for the turbo so it was a pretty strong engine but you could also run a lot more psi to it and it would have been fine.

i just got my motor back a few days ago from the shop and the guy who built it said it would take a 50 shot of nitrous with no problems...he just recommended that i dont go above 75. lol. then again nitrous is only used for short periods of time and i dont think thats what your going for. but its still a thought.
