someone hacked up my buddys sisters car putting her system in. so i fixed it they used wire nuts fir the radio connections and they screwed the ground to the flimsy spare tire bracket and didnt sand no paint off. anyway after all hooked up he goes home and calls me and said when the radio is turned down to zero the factory speakers inside dont play but the subs are still pounding out bass if the radio aint feeding the amp a signal how are they still on. any suggestions will be gratefull. im confused

put the ground in a better place. when there's something wrong with a system 9 times out 10 it's the ground

make sure the rca cords are run on the opposite side of the car away from the power wire. If that's not it i wounld just re-wire the whole system

Cheap ass head unit would be my guess?

If thats not the case, pull it all and start over, i find thats usually the best way.

if the subs are on even with the radio turned down or off, the remote wire could possibly be connected to a hot 12v source and not one where the signal is sent when the key is in the accessory-on-run posistion

that happened to me once when i hooked a system up to the factory radio, i wasnt lookin and crimpd the t-tap on the next wire BLAH
