Can you run a 4 link the bottom 2 foward and the top two backwards? My buddy is doing this and I think its not right ?? I might be wrong but wont it bind up?

You can do it, but its not correct. He may eventually have problems. I know some people that have done it and it still works correctly to this day, but I 've also heard of people having geometry problems from it causing failure

its the worst way to set up a 4-link. the axle is being pulled in 2 opposing arcs. what that will do cause a dramatic change in pinion angle.

but, its been done a ton of times, and will continue to be done. people will swear that they have no problems, but that still doenst make it a correct install.

oh boy here comes another war

Bryan said it better, that's what i was gettin at. And Heath is right this kind of stuff will cause a war, some people will say its not a problem at all and some will say otherwise

Yep, what everyone else said. It can work, but it's just not really practical to do when setup to have correct angles. The bars would have to be super long and positioned just right. I tried drawing it out on paper once and came up with the bars being like 4' or 5' long to maintain good pinion angle through the range of motion.

it will work like everyone said and i have also seen a few done like this but a issue might be lift because of the drastic changes in the pinion angles but who really needs alot of lift in the back

one of my friends had a setup kinda like that, and im pretty sure he had alot of wheel hop. this was also after he got a 302 put into his truck though.

itll hold the axle in place under the truck and unfortunetly thats all a lot of people care about. otherwise its worse than a reverse 4 link IMO.
