So yesterday i was working on the project and i was trying to take off the leaf spring to lower it....now the problem that i ran into was the bushings for the leaf springs are how u say "rusted together" the actual part that is sieze together is the metal sleave that the bolt runs threw...i even took a slug hammer to the bots and the bugger wouldnt come loose...i want to salvige these pieces without having to replace or custom make new ones.....does anyone have any ideas to toss at me to "unsieze" that sleave?

thanks keeksta

I guess you could try cutting the bolt head off along the bushing...and maybe replace the bushing if you damage it...then you could knock the bolt out on the bench...you would need new bolts...which would be a goog idea anyway...

spray the hell out ofi tw / penetrating oil and use a big ass prybar.if that dont work ull have to heat it and damage the bushing.

no i just took the bolts out and popped em otu BUT since ur in canada andall the years of road salt and shiz helped.just soak em in penetrating oil(pb blaster works real good) and they should come out.

for my old ranger, in NH, because of all the salt in the winter mine were corroded so bad that i had to drill out the spring perches then cut the bolts off hand have the bushing pressed out and a new one put in...that was the only way for me to get the things to work

what i ended up doing with my ranger leafs was cut the bolt head off with a cutoffwheel on a angle grinder and pounded the bolts out with a punch worked for me but its hard to say if it would for you.

this id off topic but mike would you be able to take a pic of your fan belt routing on your v8 for me? im havein some issues with mine and wanna compare how mines routed vs yours... thanks!
