Ok, this is the third ac compressor i've got AIM. This last one craped out in 2 days, i'm oiling but they just burn up. when i was at DROP ZONE this year my buddy was was talking to someome, and he was useing a cadilac pump, but my buddy can't remember what the guy was saying. SOOOOOOOOOO does anyone have any thing that works good or know someone. Or is this unshared info.peace

get a york 210 out of like a 78 ford econoline van... if you mount them upright you dont even need to run an inline oiler. thats what i have on my truck.

The L and R just stands for Left or Right side suction...doesnt really matter which u get, also check out onboardair.com they sell clutch kits and all u need to hook up a york 210.

thats getting me closer. i'm starting to think, that i should not bother with a ac comp unless it is a york. i think i was just hopeing i missed the meeting on the best ac comp to use.

I have got an Engain Comp From suicide doors.com and worked for me, aslo i was going to comvert my ac comp, its cheaper but then you lose the ac on a hot day. Something is going rong with the engain comp because i had mine for a long time and no problems.

a York is pretty much the only one that has a internal oilpan and therefore is the only one that wont eventually burn up on you. there were Tecumseh comressors that were basically just like a York but with a cast iron case and there were V-2 ones made by Chrysler that had an internal oilpan, but they are rare nowdays. best to use a York and do the oil mod on it. but even then it still needs a slight amount of oil to keep it from burning up.
dont believe someones BS when they tell you they have some other compressor mounted with an oiler and they have "had no problems" for whatever length of time, it doesnt matter because if it doesnt have an internal oilpan it will fail. it will fail at the worst time too. either you and your new girl are rollin or at some show in front of everyone. then they all laugh at you fro trying to save a few bucks. a rebuilt York costs 85 bucks at autozone. the oiler and filter cost didly.... a small price to pay for the best compressor there is. you will have to get a clutch, but get that at a wrecking yard, they hardly ever go bad, you may even be able to buy a locked up compressor with a good clutch for dirt cheap.
