i was wonderign if any other motor woudl bolt up the the tranny behind a 2.3 in a 90 ranger looking to maybe v8 it but dont want to put another chevy in this one

I don't think you'll be able to put anything bigger onto that tranny, certainly not a 302. You will atlest need the 4.0 tranny for the 5.0. Your best bet would be to find a wrecked 'stang and just the 5.0 motor and tranny from it.

what tranny do have now man. or auto?? if its a t5 u can change the bell housing to 5.0l bell housing. and put 5.0l or 351 to the tranny :bags:

You'll have the change bell housing for sure but still not sure if it will work. But even if it dose the tranny will never hold up to a v8. Thats what size motor and tranny mine had and now its got a 302 with a c4 in my 91.

You can run the 302.
They are the same as the Merkur,svo and the
turbo coupe t-bird all with 2.3 motors. You will have to change the bell housing if you run the manual T5. Good luck!

if its a 5 spd ull have to get a new tranny. the mazda tranny thats in there has a NON removable bellhousing.
