i got another damn truck and i need some info fo sho! its an 87' with a 4spd and im hating it quite harshly. Does anyone know what it takes to swap a 5 spd in? I must say also that this thing sucks on gas mileage. Like no joke you'd think the damn thing was super charged and running at full throttle 100% of the time. But hey it passes emissions so it must be running good enough. heres a little look at it. I didnt want to but oh well. oh yeah and pay no attention to what is parked behind it! Not supposed to see that either.

pretty sure you can just bolt up a 5 speed tranny...it should get better mileage, too

all you have to do is swap the tranny and maybe the mount, thats it. You will notice a big difference in rpms and fuel mileage adn power.

Yeah, the only things that will be different will be the gearing. You'll be able to drive 55 and not worry about hitting 3800rpm.

Toyota has always been kind of odd about the way they do things. Most FI motors hav the 5spd, carbed motors usually had a 4spd????
