Has anybody tried them out? I've been looking around online and ive heard that its a pretty easy process the only thing is if you dont heat cure it the paint could peel when removing the tape. Anybody have this problem any other problems? Thanks

why the hell would u want water based paint on your car, painting acrylic is easy as, piant + thinner, 2pac is not hard just use a measuring cup and read instructions on the cans.
water based......how does that work in the rain lol...i guess urr thinking of using it on the inside lol

you really might want to look into them before u speak again... thank you ... btw water based are suppose to b very good besides th fact that they haven;t perfected the clear... well thats what i was told.. but its also much safer.. like no voc's and the colors seem richer...

sorry, i dont know much at all about em. only water based paints ive ever used are house paints.
if your only painting a vehicle once i wouldnt be to worried about the chemicals. if i did it for a living then it would seem great, but then again the new full face masks they started using at a BMW shop i worked at are supposed to be very effective at stopping the paint in the air going inside urr lungs.
if the waterbased works sounds great.

yea i wanna try water based too... me and b12yan go to school and id love not to use the stupid ass fresh air hoods while we paint... yea i no breathing the shit isnt good but how do people paint with them things? the big hood and another hose to trip on and watch while your in the booth.. yet alone trying to walk a whole car at once.. im gonna look into water based when i finally paint my truck but idk if HOK has a line of it yet

I've used them and can't say I liked what I got. I have a cabinet full of colors and I'm sure they're better than a few years back but my biggest problem was lifting when you applied multiple layers and graphics. I've seen articles touting these products and seen excellent results but I don't have time to run a hair dryer over my graphics everytime do a tape out. If you're doing mostly freehand work you should be fine to use them, otherwise the trouble involved isn't worth risking a paintjob over. I recommend you buy some and try it for yourself...see if YOU like using them.

they are water BORNE, not water based. Big difference. Its so that the carrying agent (water in this case) doesnt release volatile chemicals during curing, as happens with any other type of paint.
